5 Tips for Handling Wedding Planning Stress

Hi babes! I’ve been hearing a common theme from my brides lately: they are stressed silly from wedding planning! Trust me, I’ve been there. You’re faced with a million questions, tackling multiple to-do lists, and you’re likely putting pressure on yourself to plan the best day possible. It’s an exciting but overwhelming time! So how do you overcome the stress and make wedding planning fun again? Here are my 5 top tips.

Sweat it out

Exercise is known to relieve stress. Whatever your workout of choice may be, blast your fav playlist and get moving! I personally love yoga for transferring focus on my breathing and off my to-do lists. I always feel amazingly refreshed after. Endorphins for the win!

Pamper yourself

Planning some me-time into your routine will work wonders on your stress levels. This will look different for everyone - for me, it’s a long soak in our clawfoot tub with a Lush bath bomb and a candle burning. Cozy PJs, your favorite snack, and a good book are other great options. Or better yet, treat yourself to a professional massage or a mani-pedi! Relax and say ahhh.

Go on a date

Plan a date night with your boo and make a rule to not discuss the wedding! Instead, catch up on other topics and enjoy each other’s company. Me and Keith's favorite summer date night activities include dining al fresco at our favorite restaurants, packing a picnic and heading to the park, or seeing a movie at the drive-in theatre!

Delegate

If you’re like me, asking for help isn’t always easy. I believe lies that I’m the only one who can get things done right, but by doing that I put too much pressure on myself and often get overwhelmed. If you have family and friends who are willing and excited to help with wedding planning, let them!! Tasks like stuffing envelopes, designing seating charts, and assembling favors get done faster with an extra hand. They’ll love spending quality time with you, and you’ll love the help!

Remember your ‘why’

When things seem over your head, take a step back and recall why you’re doing this in the first place! You’ve found the person you want to spend the rest of your life with, and that’s what matters most – not the linens, not the cake flavor, not the color of the bridesmaids’ dresses. No matter how the details turn out, it’ll be the best day ever – because you’re marrying the love of your life!
